A Note About Spice in Cambodian Cooking

Cambodian food is full of incredible flavors , but here's something really interesting about how it's served!

๐Ÿœ Mild by Tradition, Spicy by Choice!

In many Cambodian households, meals are traditionally prepared mild or only lightly spiced. Rather than making an entire dish automatically spicy, Cambodian families often serve flavorful condiments and sauces on the side so each person can customize their own plate to their taste. This family-style approach allows everyone at the table , kids, grandparents, and spice lovers alike , to comfortably enjoy the same meal together while adding as much heat and flavor as they prefer!

๐Ÿฅฃ

Sauces on the Side

Cambodian tables are often set with small bowls of sauces, chilis, and condiments. You add what YOU like! This makes every meal feel personal and special.

๐Ÿซ™

Your Plate, Your Way

Want it extra spicy? Go for it! Prefer it mild and savory? That works too! Cambodian food culture respects that every person has their own perfect flavor.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Spotlight: Yeak Hot Sauce!
